Career[]
During his 16 years as the Coroner of the Queen's Household, Dr. Burton investigated the death of Diana, Princess of Wales before responsibilities were handed down to his successor Michael Burgess (who was responsible for investigating the death of Dodi Fayed as the Coroner for Surrey).
He resigned from the Queen's Household in 2002 due to ill health and died two years later from prostate cancer at the age of 75.
